Huawei just held a big event in China and announced a couple of new hardware, which includes the latest Huawei Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro.

As the name suggests, both the Huawei Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro are high-end devices that are made to bridge the gap between midrangers like the also new Nova 5i and flagships like the P30 Pro.

Let’s start with the Huawei Nova 5. This is the first device to come with the latest Kirin 810 chipset. A processor that offers speeds of up to 2.27GHz and consists of six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores and two Cortex-A76.

It will also feature a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a dewdrop notch on top, 4,000mAh battery, in-display fingerprint scanner, and runs on Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 interface.

Meanwhile, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro is pretty much the same device. Only this time, you’re getting a flagship Kirin 980 octa-core processor. This model also has NFC for mobile payments and easy connection to other wireless devices.

The Huawei Nova 5 will have a price of CNY2,799 (~Php20,900), while the Huawei Nova 5 Pro will start at CNY2,999 (~Php22,500) for the 128GB while the 256GB variant is at CNY3,399 (Php25,500). There’s also a Nova 5 Pro Limited Edition model that will retail for CNY3,799 (~Php28,400).

Both models will be available in China by the end of June.
