Microsoft is pushing through with its Surface Duo product by introducing a sequel.
The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 keeps the same form factor from last year. It has two 5.8-inch AMOLED screen that closes in and out like a book. When combined, they form an 8.3-inch display with a 2688 x 1892 pixel resolution.
A couple of new things here. First, it’s now protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate.
The screen is also slightly curved in the corner so it’s visible when closed. Great for notifications, kinda like Samsung’s Edge screen.
Besides the screen, the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor adds to its supreme multitasking capabilities.
You can pair it with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It then runs on the latest Android 11 operating system.
Hardcore users can also use it with the new Surface Slim Pen 2, which magnetically attaches to the side of the device.
To appeal to regular smartphone users, Microsoft also bumped up the camera department. It now has three shooters on the back that consists of a 12-megapixel main sensor with a bright f/1.7 aperture, 12-megapixel telephoto, and 16-megapixel ultra-wide.
The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has a starting price of USD1,499.99 (around Php76,100) and is now up for pre-order in select markets. Meanwhile, the Slim Pen 2 is sold separately at USD129.99 (around Php6,600).
