It’s been a while since MyPhone last came out with something that generated any buzz. Now, the MyPhone Rio Grande seems to be doing just that with its massive 5.5 inch screen and tempting Php4,499. What’s even more tempting is that the pioneering local brand is offering it at a crazy low price of Php3,999 if you get it today!

The sale starts at 12pm, November 30, 2014 (today). Since there’s no indication of a time limit, the one-day MyPhone Rio Grande sale will likely go on until stocks run out. However with a sale that’s as buzz-worthy as this one, it’s not likely that units will last the night so if you want to get it for yourself, you better get there as early as possible.

As for the phone’s specifications, nothing specific has been said about the 5.5 inch screen’s resolution, but the rest of the specs have been revealed for the most part. You’re getting a 1.3GHz quad core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5mp primary camera. There’s also a front camera with an unspecified resolution, to go along with HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. Finally, you’ve got a 2,800mAh battery powering the device with Android 4.4 KitKat running out of the box. As you can see, most of its components closely resembles the original MyPhone Rio.

The MyPhone Rio Grande certainly looks like a steal, even with its normal Php4,499 SRP. However, that 512MB of RAM is on the low side, especially when 1GB is the preferred minimum for smooth multi-tasking with today’s apps. Still, a 5.5 inch screen and quad core CPU at Php4,499 is still a fairly good deal. Not the best one though.

  1. MyPhone user din ako and i have a MyPhone RIO which i used for about 4months na and im so happy i purchased this one. I think the only downside lang nitong MyPhone RIO Grande is yung RAM. Sana ginawa na lang ng MyPhone na 1GB yung RAM… Ok na sana acceptable na kahit 5mp rear camera and VGA lang yung front cam dahil nga sa pricing. This is only my opinion :) kaya kung kung gusto nyu bumili yung MyPhone RIO na lang instead..
