MyPhone has been aggressive in marketing their upcoming android phone through teasers on their official Facebook fanpage. We just received official details about the price and specs as well as some in the flesh photos from our insider. Interested? Check it out!

MyPhone’s new teaser for their coming phone in the Agua line has confirmed that it’ll go by the name Vortex. The teaser ad also touts a new feature (for budget phones) typically reserved for high-end units: pop-up video, a la Pop Up Play of Samsung or LG’s QSlide. MyPhone calls theirs Multi-Video Display.

Another teaser trailer showed the upcoming phone’s cameras: a 13MP BSI camera in the rear and a 5MP camera upfront. Now, we all know that MyPhone isn’t everything but the sensor being Sony-made could give us hope that image performance would be top-notch.

As we pointed out in a recent article, all fingers point to it being the same as the Micromax Canvas 4 and it has been confirmed by our MyPhone insider.

We’re seeing a MyPhone Agua Iceberg successor with a much smaller screen size and same resolution. That does make my head scratch because the new Multi-Video Display would have benefited a lot from the larger screen size. Other specs would be similar with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 4.2 Jellybean, and other connectivity bells and whistles usually seen at high-end devices. The smaller screen does mean that it gets a smaller battery, at 2000mAh.

MyPhone Agua Vortex Specs

  • 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor

  • Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean
  • 1GB RAM
