OPPO has a new midrange phone, the OPPO A79 5G, that attempts to stand out from the crowd by having a fancy design.
The OPPO A79 5G uses a similar polycarbonate material like a lot of phones out there, but has a metallic texture thanks to a special treatment. The Glowing Green has a brushed metal look while the Mystery Black has a cleaner appearance.

There’s an interesting camera island on the top left with distinct bezels on the two lenses. The first one houses a 50-megapixel JN1 sensor from Samsung while the latter is a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
An 8-megapixel selfie camera is on the front, sitting on a punch-hole cutout on top of a large 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 octa-core processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
As usual, it will come with a 5,000mAh battery with OPPO’s 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. OPPO also threw in a stereo speaker setup as a cherry on top.

The OPPO A79 5G is available in India for a price of INR19,999 (~Php13,700) for the sole 8GB/128GB model. Release details in the Philippines are yet to be known.
