OPPO has unveiled its latest flagship phones, the OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, with proper high-end specs that aim to challenge the competition.
The new OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro are the first smartphones to officially launch with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, attached to an advanced cooling system consisting of a thermal conductive gell, vapor chamber, and graphite layer.
Being a smaller, cheaper option, the Find X8 has a flat 6.59-inch LTPO OLED screen while the Find X8 Pro has a bigger 6.78-inch panel with subtle curves on all sides.
Both panels have the same FHD+ resolution, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 4,500 nits of peak brightness under HDR, and 1,600 nits under high brightness mode. Both models also have a punch-hole for the selfie cameras.
We then head to the Cosmos Ring design on the back, which is now much smaller and contains the devices’ key features: the cameras.
For the non-Pro Find X8, you’re getting a large 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700 1/1.56-inch sensor with a 24mm lens equivalent and optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 50-megapixel ISOCELL JN5 sensor with autofocus for the ultra-wide and 50-megapixel IMX882 sensor with OIS behind a 3x periscope lens with a 73mm equivalent.
Thanks to its bigger body, the Find X8 Pro has an additional 50-megapixel periscope lens with 6x optical zoom, which uses an IMX858 1/2.51-inch sensor with OIS.
OPPO kept the 3x telephoto and ultra-wide sensor of the non-Pro models and made the 50-megapixel main shooter bigger by using a 1/1.4-inch LYT-808 sensor.
Apart from the impressive camera hardware, the duo will also have the OPPO HyperTone image engine that merges 9 RAW frames to create a single photo that improves clarity, and dynamic range, and reduces noise and artifacts.
Of course, the Hasselblad logo means it has Hasselblad Portrait Modes. LivePhoto mode is added. OPPO also introduced a dedicated camera button called Quick Button. Like the iPhone 16 Pro series, it lets you quickly launch the camera app, switch between lenses, and more.
OPPO also brought back the Alert Slider and of course, the device will run on the latest Android 15-based ColorOS 15. Both devices are also IP69 dust and water-resistant.
For the batteries, the X8 Pro has a bigger 5,910mAh battery while the Find X8 has a 5,630mAh. They use OPPO’s new silicon-carbon battery tech, which allows them to have higher density while keeping things small. The duo also shares the same 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro will be available in China this October 30 with the prices listed below. Release details in the Philippines and other markets are expected to be in the first quarter of 2025.
