Days before its official release, the POCO C40 have been unveiled in Vietnam revealing its full specs list.

Already the most controversial feature of the POCO C40 is the processor choice. This one is powered by JLQ JR10 chipset, which was made by a Chinese company called JLQ. This makes the C40 the first from Xiaomi to not use a chip from Qualcomm, MediaTek, or UNISOC.

What Xiaomi led to the decision to use this chipset is yet to be known. However, JLQ has been around for quite some time as it powers other budget phones from lesser-known brands.

The rest of the specs are to be expected from an entry-level device. This one only has an HD+ screen with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. On the upside, it is quite large at 6.71-inches.

There’s a 5-megapixel camera on top of the screen, while on the back there’s a dual-camera setup that consists of a 13-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Sadly, it will still ship with Android 11 operating system, but an Android 12 update is highly plausible.

Possibly the main highlight here is the enormous 6,000mAh non-removable battery. If the CPU is power efficient enough, it should last you for days on a single charge.

Speaking of which, the C40 has an 18W fast charging support, albeit it only comes with a 10W adapter in the box.

The POCO C40 comes in a single 4GB/64GB RAM and storage configuration for a price of VND3,490,000 (around Php7,900) in Vietnam. The official price and availability details here in the Philippines are yet to be known, so be on the lookout for that.
