Xiaomi sub-brand has released its first tablet ever, the aptly named POCO Pad. True to the brand’s identity, the new tablet is aimed towards the budget segment.
Launched alongside the POCO F6 and F6 Pro, the POCO Pad has a large 12.1-inch IPS display with a smooth DynamicSwitch 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch screen, with 600-nits at High Brightness Mode, Dolby Vision, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
For audio, we have four speakers in a stereo setup for an immersive experience. Not the best for a 12-inch tablet, as we’ve seen some with eight speakers, but still quite decent for the price.
Under the hood, POCO’s first tablet has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor that is forged with an efficient 4nm process. POCO boasts that the tablet received a score of 620,709. It has an 8GB of RAM, quite decent for a midrange tablet, and a 256GB of expandable storage.
The battery has a large 10,000mAh capacity, which POCO claims can last for up to 16 hours of video playback. But, expect long charging times as it only has a 33W wired charging.
Of course, the first POCO tablet will ship with the latest HyperOS, which enables features like sharing screenshots from another HyperOS smartphone, as well as sharing clipboards, network connectivity, and Notes app. It is based on Android 14.
For the cameras, we have the same 8-megapixel sensors in the front and back. The former has a FocusFrame feature that ensures you stay in focus during presentations or when shooting content while moving.
POCO has also developed a special POCO Smart Pen that you can use on the Mi Canvas app. You can also get the dedicated POCO Pad Keyboard for better multitasking.
The POCO Pad with the sole 8GB/256GB configuration has an SRP of Php15,999. With a special Shopee voucher, you can get it for only Php12,999 until May 30. Meanwhile, the POCO Smart Pen is sold separately for Php1,499, the POCO Pad Keyboard for Php1,799, and a POCO Pad Cover case for Php599.
