One of Redmi’s cheapest smartphones, the Redmi 14C, is now getting a 5G brother.
The new Redmi 14C 5G is now powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor from the Helio G81 Ultra of the 4G-only variant. This chip offers higher clock speeds of 2.2GHz, has an Adreno 613 GPU, and dual 5G support with download speeds of up to 2.5Gbps.
Everything else looks identical to the 4G model. It still has a large 6.88-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but only with an HD+ resolution.
There’s an improved 8-megapixel selfie camera on the top of the screen, while the rear uses the same 50-megapixel sensor and an unknown accomplice.
Keeping the lights on is a 5,160mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Xiaomi claims it can last for up to 1,000 charging cycles. It will come with a 33W charger, but will only support 18W.
It will still ship with Android 14 with HyperOS but is secured to receive 2 years of software updates and 4 years of security patches. It also has an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The Redmi 14C 5G is now listed in India for INR9,999 (~Php6,800) for the 4GB/64GB model, INR10,999 (~Php7,400) for the 4GB/128GB, and INR11,999 (~Php8,100) for the 6GB/128GB. No word yet if it will come to the Philippines and other countries.
