Xiaomi continues to grow the Redmi Note 12 series with the introduction of the Note 12R, which features a fresh new entry-level chipset from Qualcomm.
The Redmi Note 12R boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 octa-core processor. The chip comes with a Snapdragon X61 modem, the first to get an improved 3GPP Release 16 of 5G. It’s made of a 4nm process, which should make it battery-efficient.

It comes in four different RAM and storage configurations that mix 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage.
We have an enormous 6.79-inch IPS FHD+ display on the front, with a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the top. On the back is an iPhone-like camera layout consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera joined by a 2-megapixel macro lens. No ultra-wide, though.

Keeping the lights on is a decent 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
It then ships with an Android 13-based MIUI 13 interface.

The Redmi Note 12R has a price of CNY999 (~Php7,600) for the 4GB/128GB, CNY1,099 (~Php8,400) for the 6GB/128GB, CNY1,499 (~Php11,400) for the 8GB/128GB, and CNY1,799 (~Php13,700) for the 8GB/256GB. They are now available in China while release details in other markets are yet to be announced.
