Xiaomi Philippines just launched its sub-brand’s very first tablet, the Redmi Pad.
First released in India earlier this month, the Redmi Pad is a large, feature-rich tablet that doesn’t break the bank — pretty much how other Redmi products are.
A large 10.61-inch 2K IPS display populates the front, with uniform bezels that house a horizontally-centered front camera. Besides being sharp, the screen also has a fast 90Hz refresh rate to make things look smooth, as well as four speakers in a stereo setup.
Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor with no LTE option. You can get it with 128GB of storage, which you can expand by up to 1TB via a microSD card, as well as an option between 4GB and 6GB of RAM.
Xiaomi claims that its 8,000mAh battery can last for up to 16 hours of continuous use. Albeit, it only comes with an 18W charger, so charging times may take a few hours with this large battery.
It then ships with a special version of MIUI made for tablets, which is still based on Android 12. All these features are crammed inside a unibody metal build.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 4GB/128GB has an SRP of Php13,999, but will be discounted to Php10,999 from October 29 to November 4. The 6GB/128GB variant then retails for Php14,999. You can get them at Xiaomi Authorized Stores nationwide and through the xiaomiofficialstore.ph on Shopee come the 29th of October.
