Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini: A Waterproof Mid-ranger With All the Bells and Whistles

To the surprise of no one, Samsung recently announced the Galaxy S5 Mini, a waterproof mid-ranger that inherits the aesthetics of its big brother. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini features a 4.5 inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz quad core CPU, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. You also get LTE connectivity at a price range where LTE has yet to become common.

Aside from the usual connectivity suite of WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, the Galaxy S5 Mini also comes equipped with NFC and an infrared blaster that lets it double as a universal remote. I know a few friends who troll the sales attendants at Abensons by turning the TVs on and off, changing channels or turning the air conditioning on full blast so that’s pretty neat.

Russia will be the first to receive the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini beginning early in July, followed by an eventual roll out to other territories in the next few months. Looking to grab one? You’ll have a choice between Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
