The last few Galaxy Z Fold iterations lacked interesting upgrades and have dismayed a lot of fans. So now, the company has introduced the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
This should have been the Galaxy Fold6. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition looks like a more proper upgrade than the current model. For starters, it now has a bigger 6.5-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X cover screen, versus the 6.3-inch panel of the former. It also has a taller 21:9 aspect ratio that’s closer to the shape of a regular bar phone and is protected by Corning Gorilla Victus 2.
With a larger cover screen comes a bigger main display. It is now at 8 inches, has a 10:9 aspect ratio, and like the other screen, has a 120Hz refresh rate.
It is also incredibly thinner. Not as thin as the HONOR Magic V3, but close at only 10.6mm when folded and 4.9mm when opened.
Possibly the most noticeable upgrade on paper is the 200-megapixel main shooter, which is much better than the 50-megapixel shooter of the Z Fold6.
The 10-megapixel 3x telephoto is the same, but the 12-megapixel ultra-wide now has autofocus. The rest of the specs are the same.
Launched in South Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition has a price of KRW2,789,600 (~Php116,800). No word yet if it’s coming to the Philippines. Alternatively, you can settle for the Galaxy Z Fold6, available locally for a starting price of Php105,990.
