SKK Mobile has announced a trio of new and affordable devices.
The cheapest among the three, the SKK Chronos Ace is a fairly decent device for something that costs only Php2,299. It’s running on the latest version of Android and coupled with fairly acceptable internals. According to the Facebook post of SKK Mobile, this is only an introductory price but we hope that they will reconsider and make this the regular price instead of Php3,299. But in any case, it does seem to offer value for money even at a slightly higher price point.
The Chronos Ace is powered by a 1.5Ghz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It supports microSD card expansion, 13-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. With the help of the benefits of Marshmallow, this looks like a capable device to cater those who are just jumping in on the smartphone craze.

We still have no information on when will the introductory price end. However, SKK Mobile confirmed that it will still be in effect ’til the first week of May when they answered the question of one commenter. What do you think? Are you interested in picking up this budget-friendly smartphone?
I found another issue. The WiFi sensitivity is not that good. Our modem is located upstairs and when im downstairs it hardly get a signal compared to my Cherry Urban. And the free casing didnt last 5 days. The edges cracked itself! The plastic reacted to heat and cold and it just cracked while charging and you cant find any replacement even in skk stores! Sayang, ganda pa naman ng case cover. But aside from all of that, performance is good.
usually normal when it has mediatek chipsets..
so what have you experienced on this phone so far? any neat tips and tricks? for me battery lasted a day, not so heavy browsing..
Do we have the same problem with regards to taking pictures on dim areas- i cant see anything, Is there any remedy for this one?
Ive had this like 5 days ago, the phone is ok. no lags or anything. The camera is good when you using it outdoors, but when you use it on dim areas, the flash has no use, you cant see anything –no matter how you set it. The flash is not that strong
I’ve tried to peel off the cover of the ace’s battery due to my curiousity and found out that it is just 2000mAh and not 2500 as mentioned on its reviews. That is so disappointing..

Camera is super sensitive even in dimmed places and has good quality image result both video and pics, but I just discovered that the sensitivity don’t work with other 3rd party camera apps like camera 360, etc. You must be on super bright places like daylight when using camera 360 or your image won’t be seen. Also, it’s not really 8gb internal storage but 4.43 only. These are what I discovered for now but the performance is good so far. One thing it looks decent is because of its free case cover that when you close it, an analog clock displays on the center making it look cool and expensive like.
P.S. The saleslady of SKK mobile in Gaisano Tisa Cebu City was no good and should be replaced.
It is 8GB ROM miss :) the other 3.57MB is already occupied by the system apps, boot.img, etc. you can download diskinfo from playstore to get some geeky information about our ace’s partitions :)
Then it should read 2.4gb used of 7.80gb or something. But it reads 4.43. So there is something suspicious. Besides, the price can tell it.
have you tried to use it on dark lit rooms, – try to turn off the bedroom lights and see if you can get a photo

Have you experienced no photos at all in low light? is the flash bright enough to take pictures? you can get one if you are too close with the subject — but it cant fill a room
I have no problem with the camera at all as long as you dont use any third party camera apps like camera 360 etc. Just use the built in camera app

I’d like to ask if some of you had also experienced what I’m experiencing right now. My mom bought me this 2 weeks ago and now it has a malfunction on screen. I’d tried to restart it many times to see if it was just something but no. I’ll give you example, on my keyboard , I’ve tried to press the letter n but it turns out to be the period. Thank You ! Hope someone will respond ;)
Haven’t experienced it so far. But what I experienced even on my old smartphone that if the screen is a little bit wet , or your fingers maybe, it causes that kind of problem.
Ive experienced that, since its only a 2 point multi touch– ive put a 3rd party keyboard app– its MULTILING- that should fix it.

I saw on their website that the battery is 2,500 mAh. Now lets hope that the chip is Snapdragon/Mediatek.
One thing I like is that it is fast charging.
