Whereas most local brands in the Philippines release new tablets in the 7- and 8-inch varieties, SKK Mobile wants to differentiate by releasing a 10-inch slate. The new SKK Mobile Extreme offers Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, dual core computing, and dual SIM (dual standby) capability for Php6,999.
SKK Mobile Extreme Specs
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 10-inch TFT LCD, capacitive touchscreen
- 1.3GHz dual core processor
- 512MB RAM
- 4GB internal storage
- microSD support up to 32GB
- 5-megapixel main camera, with LED flash
- 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front camera
- Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS
- Li-Po 6000mAh battery
Capable of sending text messages and making calls, the SKK Mobile Extreme accepts a regular mini-SIM as well as a secondary micro-SIM. The tablet also comes with a TV tuner, which should be a good way to view what’s currently on the local TV channels while on the go.
These specs are pretty much what SKK Mobile has unveiled for its Extreme tablet. But given that this is an entry-level device, I’m guessing the dual core CPU hails from MediaTek, while the TFT capacitive touchscreen likely comes with only an 800-by-1280 resolution (or even less).
For Php6,999, the SKK Mobile Extreme is for anyone looking for a budget tablet with a bigger screen. For an HTC One look-alike smartphone, check out the SKK Mobile Mirage S1.
