The Sony Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition has been unveiled as Sony attempts to lure mobile gamers. Along with it is the release of a special accessory called Xperia Stream.
So, what’s new with the Sony Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition? Honestly, nothing much. Sony just upgraded the RAM to 16GB from 12GB and called it a day. The storage is the same at 512GB.
That said, it is still the Xperia 1 IV that we first saw back in May. It is still powered by last-gen’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, has a sharp 120Hz 4K OLED screen, 5,000mAh battery, and 30W fast charging.
It then has three 12-megapixel cameras on the back. The main one has dual-pixel PDAF and OIS, the second one has up to 5.2x telephoto lens also with OIS, while the last one sits behind an ultra-wide glass.
The device will be bundled with the Xperia Stream accessory. As the name suggests, it’s meant for streamers as it brings full-sized HDMI and LAN ports to the device. There’s also a headphone jack and USB Type-C port.
To keep the device cool, it also has a built-in fan to keep the temperature in check while you’re gaming and streaming.
The Sony Xperi 1 IV Gaming Edition will be available in Japan starting September 15 for a price of JPY175,000 (around Php69,800), while the Xperia Stream can be bought separately for JPY23,100 (around Php9,200).
