Sony has launched its latest midrange device, the Xperia 10V.
Announced alongside the flagship Xperia 1 V, the Sony Xperia 10 V is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor just like most smartphones we’ve seen in this category. It is paired with a conservative 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
It has a compact 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED screen, but sadly, it only has a 60Hz refresh rate. On the upside, Sony did say that it’s 1.5x brighter than its predecessor and is even protected by flagship-level Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It’s also IP65/68 dust and water-resistant, has dual front-facing speakers, and Hi-Res audio.
The back panel is still made of plastic, which is acceptable since it made the device lightweight at only 159 grams. A clean camera layout on the top left holds a fancy 48-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization.
Instead of the boring macro or depth sensor, the main camera is joined by two 8-megapixel shooters with a telephoto and ultra-wide lens. Another 8-megapixel sensor is used for selfies.
Despite its small size, it still managed to get a large 5,000mAh battery that Sony claims will not drop to its 80% capacity even after three years. Sadly, the charging speed was not mentioned.
The Xperia 10 V has a price of EUR449 (~Php27,500) and will be available in June. Release details in the Philippines are yet to be known.
