Starmobile has officially unveiled a new addition to their UP series — the Starmobile UP Xtreme.
The phone is neither extremely fast, cheap, or expensive. The name is referring to the extreme toughness of its 5-inch 720p scratch and shatter-resistant screen. It can handle heavy loads of up to 30 kilos, as the company claims that it is also pressure resistant to an extent. Lousy consumers can also afford to drop the Starmobile UP Xtreme because it can survive a drop from as high as 6 feet.
Going to the hardware inside, the Starmobile UP Xtreme runs on a modest quad-core MediaTek chipset with a meager 1GB of RAM. There are 8-megapixel cameras with flash on the front and back. Only 16GB of built-in storage is available out of the box, but it’s expandable by using a microSD.
