Xiaomi has launched yet another enticing smartphone, the new Xiaomi Mi 6X. As what you might expect, it is destined to be another blockbuster hit. But the problem is, this device is not going to be the only option, as it has plenty of competition in the midrange smartphone market.
Unless you’re living under a rock, you already know that Xiaomi is one of the few good brands that make the best bang-for-the-buck products. Their releases are always a hit to both the average consumers and enthusiasts alike due to its impressive price-to-performance ratios.
But with the new ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1, the Taiwanese brand is saying that they can also do the same. As the name would suggest, this device has some “maxed” out specs in an attempt to lure the consumers into picking it.
So the question is, can Xiaomi remain as the ultimate price-to-performance king? Or can ASUS steal the crown with their latest release? Check out our Xiaomi Mi 6X and ASUS Zenfone Pro M1 specs and features comparison below to learn more about it.

The table above shows that Xiaomi still got it. However, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 did not give up without a fight. While the Xiaomi Mi 6X has the bigger numbers, the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 has several better features that I’m sure a lot of people would really appreciate.
For starters, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 offers a cleaner version of Android. It runs on stock 8.0 Oreo interface, which means there’s no ZenUI or any other clunky third-party skin ruining the Android experience. With the Mi 6X, it’s definitely something that MIUI 9.5 doesn’t offer because it’s a heavily modified version of Android.
Also, you can’t just miss out the ultra-large 5,000mAh battery of the Zenfone Max Pro M1. With such capacity and efficient hardware, this device can easily last for two days or more.

But then again, the Xiaomi Mi 6X has a more powerful chipset. This device is rigged with a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 processor, while the latter only has a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 CPU.
ASUS kept the dedicated microSD card slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Zenfone Max Pro M1, something that Xiaomi didn’t bother adding on the Mi 6X.
The Mi 6X also offers better cameras, from its 20-megapixel selfie camera, up to its dual 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel rear cameras with 2x optical zoom capability.
On the other hand, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is available in two camera configurations. However, neither of them is better than the Mi 6X’s offering — at least on paper.
So, to answer the question— picking the winner between these two is actually quite complicated. If you prefer having a faster processor and better cameras just like most people, going with the Xiaomi Mi 6X route is the obvious choice.
But if you value having a bigger battery, cleaner interface, and easy access to a headphone jack and a dedicated microSD card slot, the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 might be the better option.
If we were to compare the pricing of both devices’ 4GB RAM + 64GB models, the Xiaomi Mi 6X costs Php3,000 more with its ~Php13,300 price tag. Meanwhile, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a cheaper price of only ~Php10,300. These prices are direct conversions to Philippine peso, so it might change when taxes and other importation costs get factored in when they land in PH.
