TECNO has released its second foldable phone, the TECNO Phantom V Fold2.
Like the new Phantom V Flip2 to the first one, the TECNO Phantom V Fold2 looks almost indistinguishable from the V Fold from last year. It looks more mature, refined, and sleek.

The camera island on the back has a rectangular shape, unlike the circular one from its predecessor. It comes in two colors: Krast Green and Rippling Blue. The latter has a leather-like material with the logo of the German electronics company LOEWE which helped design this particular variant.
For the hinge, TECNO used a proprietary aerospace-grade material that can last for over 400,000 folds and can be propped to a 30 to 120-degree angle. TECNO also highlights how they were able to drop the thickness by 3.38mm using materials like fiberglass, titanium alloy, and aluminum.

For the screens, both the main and cover displays use an LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 100% P3 color gamut. The main foldable panel measures 7.85 inches while the other has a decent 6.42-inch size.
The screen will work with the new stylus called TECNO Phantom V Pen. You can use it to write lock screen notes, global cutouts, write calculations and math equations, and use the pen’s button as a remote control.

Both screens will get their own 32-megapixel selfie cameras. The back has three 50-megapixel shooters: an OV50H sensor with optical image stabilization, an ultra-wide glass, and a portrait lens with 2x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom.
Like the V Flip2, it will feature TECNO AI, a suite of features that includes the AI-powered Ella smart assistant, AI Writing (Text Generator, Proofread, Summarize, Rewrite), real-time conversation translation, AI Wallpaper Generator, and AI Artboard that can convert simple doodles into real art.

The battery modules have been split into two for a 5,750mAh capacity. 15W wireless charging is supported, as well as a 70W wired solution. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with an apt 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
TECNO also boasts that the Phantom V Fold2 is IP54 dust and water-resistant, has been certified to withstand 1-meter drops, has a TUV SUD 48-month fluency rating (meaning it should still feel like new even after four years), and will receive two Android upgrades and three years of security patches.

The TECNO Phantom V Fold2 12GB/512GB model retails for USD1,099 (~Php55,700). It will be available in Africa this September 23. It will soon arrive in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
