Torque Ego smartphones 2017

Torque hasn’t made a buzz for a while in the smartphone industry. But now, the company has come out to introduce not one, but three new smartphones. Get to know the Torque EGO Note 3G, EGO Zoom Lite, and the EGO Note 4G.

Torque might have taken their time to release a new smartphone line, but it still couldn’t produce an exciting product. Judging by the devices’ price tags and spec sheets, it looks like Torque is still targeting the budget shoppers with the new EGO smartphones.

But despite being dull, each of the three handsets offer a set of features that can be appealing for the price. They obviously don’t have any bells and whistles, but Torque was at least able to cover the essentials.

First, we have the Torque EGO Note 3G. Priced at only Php3,799, it’s the cheapest in the family.

As the name suggests, the EGO Note 3G doesn’t support 4G connectivity like its brothers. It also has a pretty generic 1.3GHz quad-core processor, with only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It also runs on an outdated Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Next, we have the oddly named Torque EGO Zoom Lite. The spec sheet states that it has a pretty standard 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an LED flash. It seems like Torque just exaggerated the included front-facing flash, which is why they called it ‘Zoom’. But we’ll just give them that.

For its price of Php3,999, adding the extra Php200 to skip the EGO Note 3G should be a better idea. Going with the EGO Zoom Lite unlocks the Android 7.0 Nougat OS, 4G LTE connectivity, and more.
