vivo has introduced OriginOS 5, which will arrive on Chinese vivo and iQOO devices along Android 15 becomes available. While it may not arrive directly in markets like the Philippines, some of its features should still become available in FuntouchOS.
As per vivo, OriginOS 5 is 15% faster in opening apps, 30% faster in switching apps, and has reduced power consumption by 26%. It can intelligently allocate RAM and GPU power to keep apps running as smoothly as possible.
Of course, a big part of the update is AI, which is centered on the new Little V assistant. It has features similar to Circle To Search. You can also create clipboards using photos, videos, links, and more, which the assistant will organize into “memory fragments” based on your travels and activities.
The update will also improve how you customize the lock screen, letting you add widgets and buttons. The overall user interface and design language have also been upgraded.
vivo has also upgraded its Dynamic Island-like interface. It now shows cards when you copy content so you can easily drag them to a relevant app — apps suggested with the help of AI based on context.
Text generator is also here. Plus, it can handle voice calls for you (several languages supported), then, shows a summary of the conversation after the call.
Little V can also interpret sign languages using a virtual human avatar and conveniently answer and replay messages in your car’s infotainment system. Matter protocol support was also added for better smart home control.
OriginOS will be first available in flagship vivo and iQOO phones.
