Vivo attempts to stay competitive in the budget 5G smartphone segment with the new Y76s 5G.
The Vivo Y76s 5G gets its modern connectivity feature from the Dimensity 810 octa-core processor. Of course, it also has virtual RAM expansion like everyone else. This lets you add 4GB of virtual memory to the 8GB physical one by borrowing from the storage. Speaking of which, it comes in 128GB and 256GB flavors that you can pair with up to a 1TB microSD card.
Besides 5G, another highlight feature is the 50-megapixel main shooter. This sharp sensor gives enough pixels to enable its software video stabilization.
Although, it’s only joined by a 2-megapixel macro lens, no ultra-wide or depth sensor. On the front is a decent 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
The front-facing camera is sitting in a waterdrop notch on top of its 6.58-inch FHD+ screen. It has the standard 60Hz refresh rate, but with a high 180Hz touch sampling that’s supposed to improve responsiveness. Built to perform, the Y76s 5G has a fast 44W charging, but only with a 4,100mAh battery. And since it’s coming out in China, it will ship with OriginOS, the brand’s latest UI on top of Android 11.
The Vivo Y76s 5G has a price of CNY1,799 (around Php14,100) for the 128GB model, while the 256GB variant is at CNY1,999 (around Php15,600). Both models are paired with 8GB of RAM. They will initially arrive in China, while the release details in other countries are yet to be known.
