Xiaomi’s first in-house chipset has been announced, together with the first smartphone that will use it: the Xiaomi 15S Pro.
The Xiaomi 15S Pro is the first smartphone to use the Xring O1, while the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is the first tablet to do so. This 10-core chip can apparently keep up with the flagship chips from MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Apple.
Xiaomi’s first chip is made of a 3nm process and features two Cortex-X925 prime cores, a 16-core Immortalis-G925 GPU, and a 6-core NPU that offers 44 TOPS of AI power. Xiaomi claims it scored over 3 million in the AnTuTu Benchmark.
The 15S Pro can be had with 16GB LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It also has the latest WiFi 7 connectivity and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2.
Another impressive spec is the extra-large 6,100mAh battery that uses a silicon-carbon module to keep the overall design light and sleek. It is paired with a 90W wired charging.
On the front, we have a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a high QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and stereo speakers.
We also have triple 50-megapixel cameras on the back. The main one has a wide f/1.4 aperture, dual-pixel PDAF, and optical image stabilization. There’s also a 5x zoom from the periscope lens and OIS, and an ultra-wide lens with autofocus. A 32-megapixel selfie camera is on the front.
It then ships with Android 15-based HyperOS 2. Being a flagship phone, it should receive extensive software support.
The Xiaomi 15S Pro is now listed in China with a price of CNY5,499 (~Php42,300) and CNY5,999 (~Php46,100) for the 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB models, respectively. Release details in the Philippines are yet to be confirmed.
