OnePlus last year expanded to the TV market with the Q-series, after their success in smartphone manufacturing. They have gone further with the introduction of the new U-Series and Y-Series TVs to its lineup, all running on Google’s Android TV OS.

OnePlus TV was originally a high-end smart TV as it comes with special features like the retractable soundbar, but the U-Series and Y-Series are more restrained. The focus of both series is to deliver a high-quality experience but with a cost that is normally not related to the features.

There is just one model of the OnePlus TV U-Series — OnePlus TV 55U1. A 4K panel is attached to the 55-inch TV metal frame with a carbon fiber effect. The bezels upfront in all models are very slim, with a sleek design and a 30W speaker.

In addition, there’s also the dual-10W audio speakers.

All three models mentioned will have LED panels. The DCI-P3 color gamut will cover up to 93% with HDR10 and support for Dolby Vision. The resolution will be the only change in all sizes.

OnePlus has debuted a couple of new features in these TV models. There’s the Data Saver Plus, a special mode that will alert users whenever a certain amount of data is used, this will be helpful when on limited internet plans. Also, there’s the Kids Mode, which will offer parental control whenever it is activated together with a watch timer.
