Google Phone app now available in select non-Pixel phones

Pixel phones is a popular line for Android enthusiasts. These are the smartphones that the Android maker created themselves to give users the real Android experience that they intended to.

This is why Google Pixel phones have some apps and features that are only exclusive to them. Features that may or may not work well to OEM phones and their respective third-party UI.

But that may start to change as the Google Phone dialer app will now officially support non-Pixel phones. No need to download and install sketchy modded APKs from random sources.

The only caveat is, it doesn’t support all Android phones available. It’s said that Samsung devices, one of the biggest and most popular Android phones in the market, won’t support it. This could really bum a lot of people.

Upon checking, we saw that the app is also not available for download in our Xiaomi (MIUI 11) and OPPO Reno 3 Pro (ColorOS 7) review units.

This means that Google might be gradually seeding the app in different markets — and possibly — working on supporting it in more devices, including Samsung ones.

Whatever the case may be, there are a lot of reasons to get excited for on the Google Phone app. Those who have used it really appreciate its good integration with Google Assistant, Duo video calls, Spam Warnings, and more.
