You can now download an unofficial version of Super Mario Run for Android.
If you’re itching to play Super Mario Run but you’re using an Android device, this one’s for you.
Super Plumber Run is an obvious copy of the widely popular title “Super Mario Run” which was released a couple of days ago. How popular? It garnered over 5 million downloads in the first 24 hours after going live. And that’s only for iOS devices. Imagine if it was released on both platforms simultaneously. It could’ve achieved over 10 million in downloads.
The game is based on the classic Mario character but adapts to a running play style just like Subway Surfers and Temple Run. Super Mario Run is free to download but it requires a $10 in-app purchase after completing the first three stages of World 1.
Super Plumber Run follows the same path. It’s a side-scrolling game with an environment pretty similar to what the real game has. However, it’s important to note that it’s as polished as what Nintendo did on the original thing. The fake Mario character runs automatically and the player is in charge of clicking the right part of the screen to avoid obstacles, collect coins, and defeat enemies along the way.
But in contrast to the original iOS version, this game doesn’t require internet connectivity which means it can be played offline. It might not be as fun as the original, but at least you can play the game as a plumber.
Nintendo will probably release an official Super Mario Run for Android in the future once their partnership with Apple expires. But until then, you would have to settle with this clone.
