Startup companies in the Philippines looking to grow their business in the technology industry could take advantage of Google’s program, which grants eligible companies up to Php20 million of credits on its cloud computing platform, Google announced.
Yves Gonzales, Google Philippines Public Policy and Government Relations Head, announced the Google for AI Startups Cloud program which grants AI startups cloud credits of up to $350,000 (~Php20 million based on the current exchange rate of $1=P56.95) for over two years.
Implying the difficulty of raising a startup company based on AI from the ground up, Gonzales said that help is pivotal for early-stage businesses.
She highlights the typical problems among startups, such as limited resources and the high likelihood of failing, as the reasons.

For eligibility, pre-seed startups without funding and those with seed to series A with equity funding may apply for the program.
Per Google, successful applicants will gain access to training, AI experts, as well as networking opportunities.
Vested in startups’ burgeoning presence in the competitive world of tech and AI, Google claims that its Vertex AI will aid businesses with the intelligence they require to make smart business decisions. Furthermore, it will also help them easily make, deploy, and scale machine learning models quickly.
In addition, Google also said that those who leverage their cost-effective AI infrastructure could save companies money while reaping the benefits of advanced generative AI technologies.
