Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the future of technology and productivity, and global consumer tech company HONOR recognizes this, leading to its bold transition from a smartphone manufacturer to an AI device ecosystem company.

HONOR revealed the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, a three-step roadmap that fosters innovation and collaboration, creating an open and value-sharing ecosystem to maximize human potential.

“It is clear that the AI revolution will reshape the paradigm of the device industry—completely transforming our productivity, our society, and even our culture more than ever before, I am calling on all of us to unite to address the challenges – as well as the many opportunities – of AI technology. I also call on the industry to be truly open so that we can fully embrace this exciting AI future. Let’s do it together,” said James Li, CEO of HONOR.

With the ALPHA PLAN, HONOR aims to reach three key areas:

  • Intelligent Devices for a Smarter Future – a goal of enabling HONOR’s intelligent phones to leverage human-centric AI for enhanced productivity and user experience.
  • Expanding Industry Boundaries – a goal of creating an open AI ecosystem for global collaborations.
  • Reaching New Heights in the AGI Era – a goal of merging technology and human potential to advance civilization.

The tech company introduced the world’s first GUI-based personal mobile AI agent, capable of making intelligent decisions and seamlessly integrating with third-party services. They also showcased its groundbreaking AI imaging technology, the AiMAGE, which enhances photo clarity and restores old portraits.

HONOR also collaborated with Google Cloud and Qualcomm Technologies to demonstrate seamless integration with a third-party system. They made a table reservation using an AI agent, taking into account their calendar appointments and traffic information. This agentic feature will be released in the international markets soon.

“We are excited to partner with HONOR to integrate our technology and power the next generation of AI devices,” said Alex Katouzian of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

“Collaboration is the fabric that weaves together the open ecosystem for AI. We’re thrilled to join hands with HONOR and other industry partners to ride this disruptive wave,” said Matt Waldbusser from Google Cloud.

Co-creating an open AI ecosystem with global partners

HONOR’s goal of broadening AI’s reach will be achievable once the industry expands its AI capabilities to a broader array of devices, enabling seamless collaboration and establishing a value-sharing ecosystem with global partners. The company also announced its $10 billion investment over the next five years as a testament to its commitment to the cause.

“In the end, we will open human potential boundaries and co-create a new paradigm for civilization in the AGI era,” said Li.

HONOR CEO James Li, alongside representatives from Google Cloud, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., CKH Group, Orange, Telefonica, and Vodafone, joined a tree-lighting ceremony on stage, symbolizing the collaboration between industry partners to co-develop a more open AI device ecosystem.

HONOR also echoed its initial commitment to operational carbon neutrality by 2040 and the entire supply chain by 2050.
