The midrange smartphone market is becoming more and more saturated each time a new handset is announced. This category has been the grounds for the recent furious selfie-centric handset battles as of late. The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie is the newest contender eyeing to fight in the fierce arena. Today, we’re putting it up against one of its arch rival — the OPPO F3.
Other than the OPPO F3 and its bigger brother, there’s not a lot of devices out there that has dual selfie cameras like the new ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie. Hence, it’s just fitting to have the two in a dogfight.
Now, without further ado, let’s start.

Now, let’s make sense of these numbers.
Why the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie?
Judging by the table above, the Zenfone 4 Selfie clearly obliterated the OPPO F3. This thing has a more dated OS version and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Also, it has a better set of cameras (on paper) in both front and back — a key component in this comparison.
And as a sweet cherry on top, it’s almost Php2,000 cheaper than its rival.
Why the OPPO F3?
Despite the Zenfone 4 Selfie’s huge lead in this race, the OPPO F3 still has the upper hand in some areas. For one, it has a sharper screen at 1080p and a slightly bigger battery at 3200mAh.
The F3 has a huge advantage in terms of design. It’s built with metal which the ZF4 Selfie certainly lack as it’s mostly plastic.
However, keep in mind that all these advantages will cost you an extra Php2,000. If you want a sharp display, a bigger battery, or a Red Edition smartphone — the OPPO F3 is the one for you.
Bottomline..
Picking up the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie over the OPPO F3 is a no-brainer. Out of the two, the Zenfone 4 Selfie offers better value for the money.
But if you can’t really live without a 1080p display, proven selfie camera prowess, and having an iPhone-ish design on the both hardware and interface is your thing — then the OPPO F3 is the one to buy.
Despite being cheaper outright, the Zenfone 4 Selfie isn’t available at Home Credit yet. This is a major advantage for the OPPO F3 as consumers can pick it up for a low downpayment and continue paying the sum left monthly. So in a way, it’s lighter on the pocket than the Selfie. Hopefully, ASUS would make it available thru Home Credit soon.
