AYANEO has recently revealed its latest mini PC, the AM02, which bears a striking resemblance to the iconic NES gaming console. This upgraded version features a more powerful chipset, offering users a significantly enhanced computing experience. Let’s take a closer look at its features and specifications.

The AYANEO AM02 mini PC is designed to resemble the retro NES console, providing users with a nostalgic gaming experience. The compact and boxy form factor, reminiscent of the 1980s gaming era, is accompanied by the option to purchase a controller with a similar style to the 8BitDo SNES and a Nuphy greyscale keyboard, completing the retro gaming setup. Modern features, such as USB-C and HDMI ports, can be found behind a cover, while a multi-function touchscreen is located on top.

Unlike its predecessor, the AM01, which primarily served as an emulation machine, the AM02 is a fully functional computer. It comes equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS APU, offering a more impressive performance. With this chipset, users can expect to play a lot of modern AAA games with medium graphics settings, or even higher in some cases. Additionally, the AYANEO AM02 supports up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM (user expandable to 64GB), and offers up to 1TB SSD, with a maximum capacity of 8TB. The mini PC also includes a modern cooling system, multiple USB-A ports, ethernet port, HDMI port, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack.

One standout feature of the AM02 is its mysterious touchscreen, which AYANEO has advertised as providing “unique gameplay experiences.” Though currently shown as a clock, it is anticipated to offer a different way to navigate menus, select which games to play, and adjust settings. But despite that, traditional controllers or keyboards may still provide a more efficient gaming experience.
