Lenovo ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 launched in the Philippines

Lenovo, a multinational tech company, has recently announced the release of the Lenovo ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 in the Philippines, designed as one of the first AI-optimized compute devices for running video conferencing room systems. It will be powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor with an integrated neural processing unit (NPU).

Under Lenovo’s vision of Smarter AI for All, the electronics company plans to incorporate AI into more collaboration tools, presenting a transformative opportunity for innovation, connectivity, and productivity for IT managers and their teams.

Powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor on the vPro platform, the Lenovo ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 can efficiently manage heavy AI workloads on the computer device, with up to 40% lower power consumption than its predecessor.

Potential users may opt for the complete room solution right out of the box with the ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 Full Room Kit, a single SKU option that adds the intelligent ThinkSmart Bar 180, which enables Intelligent Speaker functionality.

Other ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 features for a smarter meeting room include:

• Support on Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms on Windows by boosting collaboration through AI-enabled features through Microsoft Copilot or Zoom AI Companion, allowing intelligent framing of meeting participants, auto voice detection, smart name tags, meeting summaries, and real-time assistance.
• Versatile built-in cable management system for a sleeker, more compact setup. It also integrates EDID management, facilitating improved connectivity with the room display. 
• The ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 is also tested to run 24/7/365 in a wide temperature range (5 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius), which can perfectly be set up unnoticed behind conference room displays.
• It is also flexible and compatible with various peripherals. If needed, it can be plugged into a laptop, and a meeting can be run in BYOD (bring your own device) mode.

As for security and customer support, the ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 also comes preloaded with ThinkSmart Manager software with the Intel vPro platform for remote manageability, as well as the Lenovo ThinkShield to add an extra layer of protection.

Lenovo has yet to reveal the price of the ThinkSmart Core Gen 2 in the Philippines, but they promise to announce the price and availability soon.
