In an announcement last Monday, Facebook Gaming introduces a new cloud gaming service that will allow users to gain free access to Android’s free-to-play games.

The new service is a significant departure from the platform’s usual service involving PC and console in that it caters to a platform that many already has on their palms or pocket—a smartphone.

While seemingly an attempt to bolster Facebook Gaming’s presence in the industry, part of the move is also aimed for profit. That is, to give Facebook a channel where advertisements can be sold to the masses while exposing their audiences to the media they all love—video games. 

Aside from the prospect of massive reach, others advantages to establishing the service include its ease of setup as well as the relatively low cost of its doing in comparison to any other means.
