The 15th International Esports Federation World Esports Championships 2023 is set to kick off today, featuring Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for the second time as one of the titles. Sixteen top-tier teams are competing in MLBB to get the lion’s share of the substantial $100,000 prize pool.

Schedule

While IESF WEC 2023 starts on August 26, the MLBB tournament itself is scheduled to begin on August 29 and end by September 3. As an offline tournament, the matches will take place in Iași, Romania.

The action begins at the group stage on August 29 and 30, where the teams are divided into four groups and engage in a single round-robin of best-of-three matches. The two top teams from each group will secure their slot in the playoffs, whereas the bottom two teams are eliminated. Mobile Legends Teams

The MLBB tournament at IESF WEC 2023 features teams representing sixteen countries. Perhaps the most notable among them is Indonesia, the defending champion who won last year’s IESF tournament. Other countries managed to claim a spot in this year’s tournament by winning the regional qualifiers.

Brazil and Colombia have emerged as contenders from the Panam qualifiers. Egypt, Senegal, and Namibia rise to the challenge as representatives from the African qualifiers. Hailing from the Asia-Oceania qualifiers are the Philippines, Mongolia, UAE, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia. Europe is represented by Ukraine, Turkey, and Georgia.

Meanwhile, the United States is the sole representative of the North American Qualifier. Taking the last spot is the host nation Romania.
