Lenovo has introduced a more toned-down version of their handheld console. Check out the new Lenovo Legion Go S, which now comes in both SteamOS and Windows 11 Home versions.
The Lenovo Legion Go S is primarily made of plastic and doesn’t enjoy the benefits of having removable joysticks. Lenovo is also giving you two storage options, one of which is the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme.
There’s also the new AMD Ryzen Z2 Go that Lenovo co-developed with the chipmaker. This chip comes with 4x Zen 3 cores, with 8x threads, and a max boost clock of 4.3GHz. It then uses RDNA 2 graphics with 12 cores, 10MB cache, and 15-30W TDP.
It is sold with up to 32GB of 6400MHz LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB PCIe SSD storage. The chipset comes with a special ColdFront tech cooling system with large fans and heat sinks.
We then have an 8-inch touchscreen with a WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and of course, a wide 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits of peak brightness, and a high 120Hz refresh rate. Keeping the lights on is a 55.5Wh battery with a 65W charging adapter.
For controls, the Legion Go S has 23 buttons in total. That includes the RGB-lit Hall Effect joysticks, D-Pad, and XYBA. Ports selection includes 2x USB-C ports with support for Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort 1.4, and Power Delivery 3.0.
The Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS will start at USD499 (~Php29,200) while the Windows 11 variant will start at USD729 (~Php42,600). It comes in Glacier White and Nebula Violet.
