If you’ve refrained from getting Overwatch because it requires purchase, then you’ll be happy to know that its sequel launched in early October as a free-to-play title. But though you can now play the popular hero shooter without spending a penny, you may still need to upgrade your gaming PC to meet the game’s specs requirements.

To be able to run Overwatch 2 at the bare minimum, your PC must have an AMD Phenom X3 8650 or Intel Core i3 CPU. As for graphics, you need an NVIDIA card from the GeForce GTX 600 series or an AMD counterpart from the Radeon HD 7000 series. Your monitor must at least have a 1024-by-768 display resolution.

The game is also demanding in terms of memory, as it needs at least 6GB of RAM and 50GB of hard drive space. As for the operating system, you must have the 64-bit version of Windows 10 installed and updated to the latest Service Pack.

While you can run the game using the minimum specs, expect the game to run so slow you’ll end up frustrated with low frame rate issues. A fast-paced shooter game like Overwatch 2 should be running on a powerful computer that can deliver high frame rates and therefore a better immersive experience.

Overwatch 2 developer Blizzard Entertainment recommends an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 CPU along with a more capable GPU, such the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1650, or AMD’s R9 380 or RX 6400. Also increase the amount of RAM to 8GB.
