Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II had its official launch last week. To guide players, developer Activision revealed what PC specs are needed to be able to run the game.

To start with, CoD MWII can only be played on an updated 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. The game also needs the processing power of an Intel Core i3-6100, Core i5-2500K, or AMD Ryzen 3 1200. Players will also need to allocate 72GB storage space and 8GB RAM. In terms of graphics, Modern Warfare II needs a video card with at least 2GB of memory and specifically mentions NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470 as the base minimum.

Activision also noted that these specs are only valid for the game as of its launch version, which means the minimum specs may change as the game receives future updates. These game updates also mean additional storage space. Even more space is needed if players want to download and enable the optional high-resolution, in-game assets.

For better gameplay experience and to achieve 60 frames per second on average, Activision recommends a computer with a Core i5-6600K or a Ryzen 5 1400. The graphics card also needs to be more powerful with at least 4GB of video memory. The recommended cards are the GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580.

Activision also has two other lists of specs for competitive players and those who want to run the game at Ultra 4K resolution while enjoying high frame rates. Unsurprisingly, these require expensive high-end hardware.
