Square Enix recently announced a 9 game compilation along with a full length movie for the entire Kingdom Hearts saga titled: Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far.

The “new” game is set to be released on October 30, 2018, which is right on time before the 13th and newest installment to the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Kingdom Hearts 3, scheduled to be released on January 29, 2019.

The October release gives new players and even former gamers enough time to get a refresher on the game’s very complex and somewhat confusing story.

The Full Kingdom Hearts Bundle include the following:

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix
  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
  • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
  • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–
  • Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (movie)

Among all of the hype and excitement, Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far won’t be coming to Xbox consoles, or at least for now. This is a very questionable move by Square Enix, especially since the latest game Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the first game in the franchise that’ll arrive in Xbox platforms.

Preventing them from playing the earlier games in the franchise might actually affect the sales of their latest game. I honestly believe that Xbox purists deserve a compiled version of the past games as well and arguably more than PlayStation users.

Let’s hope Microsoft and Square Enix can find an agreement to release the game on Xbox consoles soon.

As of now, there’s no exact price on how much it’ll cost here in the Philippines. Prices abroad do state that it is $39.99 or roughly Php2,162, when converted directly.
