Cavite-Free-WiFi

The province of Cavite is poised to implement a free Wi-Fi access to its student constituents in a bid to support their education amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Governor Jonvic Remulla stated last Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, the governor announced that the Cavite free WiFi program should cover up to 90% of the residential areas.

Strictly aimed for educational purposes, Remulla claims that the #CaviteFreeWiFi system is going to be accessible to both public and DepEd students using their respective issued ID numbers.

Taking a step towards the initiative, the Cavite governor also said that the local government is bound to have a talk with a telecommunications company in two weeks.

While the project is intended specifically during COVID-19, Remulla said that it will still remain operable and accessible post-pandemic. But for the purpose of becoming “a tool for research, connectivity, online retail, and knowledge generation.”
