The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) deployed more WiFi and charging stations to Cebu areas affected by Typhoon Odette.

Currently, there are now 16 operational stations where Filipinos can charge their devices and get internet connectivity.

  • Robinsons Galleria
  • Sto. Niño Church exit
  • Ayala
  • SM Seaside
  • SM City Consolacion
  • City/Municipal Halls
  • SM City Cebu
  • Century Plaza Hotel, Baseline
  • Starmall
  • Metrobank Plaza Fuente
  • Super Metro Colon
  • UV Main
  • Central Bloc
  • Sampaguita Suites
  • PLDT and Smart Office in Mabolo
  • University of San Carlos Main Campus/Downtown

The DICT says the ‘Free WiFi for All’ stations will be open from 8AM to 9PM. On the other hand, the charging stations are available from 8AM to 5PM only.

While the services are free of charge, those who want to use them should bring their own cords and chargers. There’s also a “one person per one mobile phone only” policy, so everybody gets a chance to use it.

Laptops, power banks, rechargeable fans, and other non-communication-related devices are prohibited. In addition, only 15 users at a time are allowed, and it follows a strict first-come, first-served policy.
