A line that will connect the province of Bulacan and Quezon City, via the Manila Rail Transit Line 7, is estimated to be at near 65% completion and will begin operations by the last quarter of 2022, according to a transportation official in a statement.
Once in operation, the MRT-7 will significantly reduce the travel time between North Avenue, Quezon City and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan by more than an hour, cutting it to just 34 minutes as opposed to the usual two hours.
According to Transportation Undersecretary Timothy John Batan, it is anticipated that as many as 300,000 passengers will be served in the first year of the service when it becomes up and running.
It’s prospected that the railway will become partially functional by December and will go fully operational by 2023, as per Batan.
