As cyber threats persist and continue to evolve, staying vigilant and informed remains crucial in safeguarding our digital lives. But should you ever fall victim to a scam and need help in recovering your losses, call the I-ARC hotline 1326.

What is I-ARC?

I-ARC stands for Inter-Agency Response Center. It’s a hotline set up by various government agencies, including the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, National Privacy Commission, and National Telecommunications Commission. The Philippine National Police and National Bureau of Investigation are also involved and responsible for enforcing cybercrime-related laws.

The main hotline number is 1326, which is available 24/7. Alternatively, victims and concerned citizens can call or message I-ARC through the following:

What can you report to I-ARC?

The public is encouraged to report cybercrime cases to I-ARC. Some examples of online scams that can be reported to I-ARC are phishing scams, romance and dating scams, and marketplace scams. Caller ID spoofing, crypto job scams, and other scams you receive via SMS and phone calls can be reported too.

What can I-ARC do for you?

According to Art Samaniego, co-lead convenor of Scam Watch Pilipinas, victims of scams may be able to recover their stolen money and online accounts after contacting I-ARC. The 24/7 hotline has trained professionals who are ready to assist victims and provide them options. In order for I-ARC to start an investigation, victims will need to provide details about the scam, such as when and where it took place and how the scammer contacted them.

With rising cases of cybercrimes in the Philippines, the public is urged to be vigilant and take proactive measures to protect their online accounts and financial wellbeing. Essential measures such as the use of strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and avoiding unknown Wi-Fi networks are a must.
