OPPO F7 Philippines Hands-on — NoypiGeeks

OPPO’s latest iteration of its #SelfieExpert series is finally in our hands. But before we dive deeper into our full review, here’s our initial impression after several days of using it.

One of the most striking differences between the F7 and its predecessor can be seen on the design. The OPPO F5 was all about rounded edges and matte finish, but its successor is a complete opposite.

OPPO F7‘s take on the design department moved towards the fragile glass and fingerprint magnet setup. And yes, it looks like its another page in Apple’s book, probably from chapter iPhone X. Last time, OPPO explicitly copied the design on the back. But this time around, the company opted for the screen notch in front and reworked the rear panel.

In terms of performance, I could definitely say that it’s quite fast, even though it’s using a chipset made by MediaTek. The Helio P60 paired with 4GB of RAM work wonders and I haven’t experienced any major hiccups in the past couple of days of using it.

Keeping the fingerprint scanner, while it may seem like a small thing, is a big plus for me. Apple explicitly showed everyone that they want to transition to the Face Unlock security system, so they removed the fingerprint sensor completely. But not everyone likes it. OPPO decided to make both security features work side-by-side for the convenience of its consumers.

The camera is really great, especially with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities. Selfies also look better than ever largely because of the addition of various stickers and improved shooting modes.

Battery life has been good so far, and it lasted me almost the whole day even with my heavy usage. Unfortunately, it’s still using the microUSB port instead of Type-C. There’s also no fast charging support which is quite a bummer because it takes too long to fully charge.
