Ookla’s ranking for July 2021 is now up and we’re seeing a bit of action in the Philippines’ numbers.

The firm reveals that the fixed broadband internet speed in the Philippines is actually better compared to last month and the same month last year. It managed to pull 71.17Mbps and 71.22Mbps of average download and upload speed, respectively, with 22ms latency.

Despite that, PH’s winning streak ends as it falls one spot at the 63rd spot as Paraguay steals the 62nd place.

Ookla says that the global average for mobile internet speed is 55.07Mbps for download, 12.35Mbps for upload, and 37ms for latency.

On the other hand, the Philippines continues to excel in Ookla’s mobile internet rankings as it advances three spots. Ookla was able to record 33.69Mbps of average download speed and 8.83Mbps of average upload speed with 31ms latency.

The Philippines’ mobile internet ranking was up 42 places from being in #114 last July 2020 to #72 this year. It’s also worth noting that it’s 3 spots higher than last month’s numbers.

Global average for fixed broadband download speed is 107.50Mbps, 58.27Mbps for upload, and 20ms for latency.

The broadband rankings was a result of user SpeedTests from 180 countries and 130 counties for the mobile internet.
