OpenSignal, a London-based wireless coverage mapping firm, has acknowledged PLDT’s wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. for being the country’s fastest LTE network provider channelling four awards comprising best 4G and best 3G latency performance, best in overall download speed, and best in 4G LTE download speed, stated in the firm’s March 2018 report.
“State of Mobile Networks: Philippines (March 2018)”, which was done from the period of November 2017 to January 2018, tells that Smart LTE outshined its competitor with a download speed of 12.5Mbps, hitting a 4.81Mbps margin.
OpenSignal has also revealed Smart LTE overtook speed rating across all measured areas such as National Capital Region (13.04 Mbps vs Globe’s 8.57 Mbps), North Central Luzon (11.59 Mbps vs 6.34 Mbps), South Luzon (11.66 Mbps vs 7.03 Mbps), Visayas (13.49 Mbps vs 7.37 Mbps), and Mindanao (14.42 Mbps vs 7.38 Mbps).

These statistics show that video streaming and downloading like iFlix and Netflix, and mobile gaming such as Clash Royale and Mobile Legends can be supported flawlessly, making it the network which is the most responsive.
In line with this, Smart is inclining its LTE roll-out nationwide, and speeding up the setting out of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) to provide larger and wider bandwidth and much faster data speed for mobile users.
