smart lte

2017 was a good year for Smart and for the telco industry as a whole. This year, they’re preparing for the possible entry of another competitor.

According to the company, smartphones that are powered by Smart LTE  has increased by 102% last year. While it is surely good for business, it’s also nice to see that more and more Filipinos now have access to the ultra-fast data speeds that 4G LTE offers.

Moreover, Smart also added that the LTE data traffic increased by 204%, which means that more users are starting to go mobile, instead of being tied down to a WiFi network.

The spike in numbers is credited to the notable increase in data traffic recorded in Davao del Sur and Cebu, as well as in areas in Pampanga and Bulacan.

All these are thanks to the company’s efforts to bring 4G LTE connectivity in more areas in the country. And we can expect all these numbers to continue to grow as they roll-out the service in more places this year.

Smart is also said to be working with different manufacturers to come up with LTE-capable smartphones that will encourage their customers to switch.
