If you’re experiencing sound issues with your iPhone 12—specifically, there’s no sound emitting from the earpiece during calls—Apple might offer a repair service free of charge.
Per a newly launched service program, Apple says there’s a “very small percentage” of users who own iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro that may be affected.
The company has identified affected devices to be those manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. These devices apparently have a faulty component in the receiver module that’s causing the sound issues.

Do note that Apple doesn’t guarantee free repairs outright, as surrendered phones at authorized service providers will still undergo inspection to check for eligibility.
Factors to be considered include country of purchase, date of purchase, and other existing damages to the phones that may hinder repair to the sound-related issue.
The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are not covered by the service program.
