Apple finally gave the vanilla iPad the refresh it deserves as it launched the 10th-gen iPad.
The new 10th-Gen Ipad 2022 has been completely redesigned. It is now thinner at 7mm, has an all-screen design with uniform bezels sans the dying home button, and vibrant colors: Silver, Blue, Pink, and Yellow.
Now that the traditional front button is gone, it’s now relocated to the top, which also doubles as a TouchID fingerprint scanner for security.
The new iPad also works with the new Magic Keyboard Folio, which has a two-piece design. The one with a kickstand attaches at the back of the device using magnets, which then connects to the keyboard, also using magnets. It also has a trackpad so you can use the tablet like a laptop.
Apple has also improved the front camera as it’s now positioned in landscape orientation. It’s a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with Center Stage to ensure you’re in the frame while presenting or moving during video calls.
Under the hood, the new iPad is powered by an A14 Bionic chip, which brings 5G connectivity to the 5G models. Also on board is the latest dual-band WiFi 6.
Another major upgrade is the shift to USB Type-C, which lets you easily connect flash drives, hard drives, and other devices and accessories.
Moreover, it only works with the first-gen Apple Pencil, which has a Lightning connector for charging. You’d need a USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter, which is sold separately for Php590. The 1st-Gen Apple Pencil itself retails for Php6,590
The 10th-Gen iPad 2022 is already up on Apple’s Philippine website with the prices listed below. Availability details are yet to be confirmed.
