Apple has unveiled the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which now feature a more advanced processor, a new hero color, better video recording, and an improved battery life.
The new iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max features a Grade 5 titanium build and includes a new color: Desert Titanium. It’s also bigger and has thinner bezels.
A big new feature is the Camera Control, which is also seen on the cheaper iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. It’s a dedicated button that lets you quickly launch the camera. It is pressure-sensitive so you can do a light tap to focus on the subject, and also touch sensitive so you can swipe through different camera modes and other features.
Moreover, the device can now record 4K videos at 120fps with Dolby Vision. The cameras are relatively the same as before: a 48-megapixel main camera with 2nd-gen sensor shift optical image stabilization, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide/macro, and a 12-megapixel 5x telephoto lens.
Audio Mix is also here. Paired with the four microphones, it lets you mix the audio from the video recorded on your phone, perfect for low-budget cinematic projects.
Apple has also included new built-in filters called Photography Style that give your photos a distinct look.
Under the hood, it is powered by the new A18 Pro chip, which comes with a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and a new 16-core NPU for AI tasks. It is 15% and 20% faster than the iPhone 15 Pro Max in terms of CPU and GPU performance, respectively.
Apple also managed to extend the battery life by up to 4 hours. The Pro model can last for a total of up to 27 hours of local video playback while the Pro Max can last up to 33 hours. It will ship with iOS 18 and will have AI features under Apple Intelligence.
The new iPhone 16 Pro is now listed on the Apple Philippines website. It comes in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models for a price of Php69,990, Php76,990, Php88,990, and Php100,990, respectively. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at the 256GB model for Php84,990, while the 512GB variant retails for Php96,990 and the 1TB at Php108,990.
