Apple just announced the new MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch models featuring brand new and more powerful in-house processors.
Both the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro 2023 can be had with either Apple’s new M2 Pro or M2 Max chips that offer 20% and 30% faster CPU and GPU performance, respectively, compared to the M1.
Each chip can be individually configured, too. The M2 Pro can be had with up to a 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU. Meanwhile, the M2 Max can be had with a 12-core CPU and up to 38-core GPU.
They will also come with updated unified memory options. The M2 Pro models can be had with 16GB or 32GB of memory, while the M2 Max has whopping 32GB, 64GB, and 96GB options. Storage options start at 512GB and up to 8TB.
Despite the increase in performance, the new 2023 MacBook Pros will have longer battery life. The 14-inch model can last for up to 12 hours of web browsing while the bigger 16-inch can do 15 hours.
Both models also have similar screens. Despite the difference in sizes, they will look equally sharp at 254ppi. Apple’s ProMotion technology which provides an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate is also here, as well as True Tone.
The duo also shares the same 6-speaker configuration with force-canceling woofers. They also have a 3-mic array that can capture studio-quality recordings.
Apple also improved the connectivity features with the newer WiFI 6E standard and the new HDMI 2.1 that can do 8K@60hz and 4K@240Hz.
Both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are now up on Apple Philippines’ website. You can check the prices and specs lists below. Availability dates are yet to be announced.
